This site is devoted to fan love, real and unrequited, for Jason Varitek, The Captain, catcher for the Boston Red Sox.

Why romancingthetek.com?

Really, why not? Just about everyone we know loves Tek. The women and the gay men want to shack up with him. Even the straight guys have man-crushes. Even the media makes him out to be a pretty good guy and how often does that happen?

On a more serious note, we read about his recent split with his wife. He’s a good guy and a good ball player who deserves the support of his fans. What better way than a little romance?

Is this site directly related to or endorsed by Jason Varitek in any way shape or form?

Not at this time, but we do hope Tek gets our message of support and caring. This is a strictly unofficial fan community. If Tek wants to, say, do a charity date auction with us or something, though, it would be pretty sweet.

Who can post?

Anyone can post using our handy form. Show your support for Tek, send him a love note, or just talk about how Tek is your man. Or The Man. Whichever.

Can I write anything I want?

Posts with swear words will be moderated, which means one of us folks in charge here has to approve your post before it will appear on the site. All posts must adhere to site terms of use regardless of what you say or the post will be removed with recourse. Posts that violate any policies of this site will be removed without notice.

Also, posts that include links will be moderated. Including links does not automatically mean your post will be rejected. Your post will only be rejected if it violates the policies of this site.

How long does it take moderated posts to be approved?
Within 24 hours of submission in most cases. Frankly, though, this is a hobby for us. There might be times when it takes longer.
